The Grade 3 Orchid

Race 11:  The Grade 3 Orchid Handicap:  One and one-half miles - TURF

Crisolles She has a lot of back class with a 2nd and 3rd in European Group stakes.  Her four North American starts show three solid efforts including a wire win at this distance.  On her best she could be a danger.
Achnaha has never run outside of allowance company; has never won on this side of "the pond" and the lone win on her resume was in the summer of 2014.  No.
Suffused A real puzzle - she's won three-of-eight starts in Euro company, which is a plus.  Comes off a long layoff for Bill Mott and is owned by Juddmonte Farms, and they are an international powerhouse.  Still....no racing since September and today's her first try in North America?  Big question mark.
Photo Call is likely to draw support at the windows strictly on the basis that Castellano rides for Pletcher.  Have to like the fact that she won a Grade 3 last fall; followed that with a sharp score in a Grade 1 out west, then forged to the front in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup World Championships Filly & Mare Turf before giving way late.  Off the shelf she ran into probably the best filly/mare turf runner in the country in Tepin who came right back to score again.  A legitimate win threat in a wide-open contest.
Quiet Kitten has won seven of nineteen turf starts and is a good 4-for-12 locally.  But she has never faced these kinds of runners before.  A stretch to consider her for the win.
Maximova In December she was a surprising second in the Grade 3 La Provoyante at 35/1 odds; and last May a good second in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay at 12/1 so she can surprise at big odds.  Don't discount her chances completely.
Songoficeandfire It doesn't get any easier as we go through the field....she has NEVER run poorly and is lightly raced so it would not be a surprise to see her jump up here.  Bill Mott trained, she's second off a L-O-N-G layoff and very likely to improve.
My Sweet Girl Since December 2014 she has a narrow nose win while losing seven times in entry-level allowance company.  Would be a big surprise.
Pretty and Sweet Just earned her first win (in ELEVEN tries) in a cheap $35K maiden claimer.  Would be shocking to see her in the winning circle.
